Firm Summary
Rigel Capital, LLC ("Rigel") was founded in 1998 as a growth equity specialist that provides investment services
to corporate and multi-employer retirement plans, foundations, endowments and family offices. Founded by CEO
George Kauffman, who has over three decades in the investment business, Rigel implements a focused, time-tested
investment philosophy and process that marries fundamental and technical analysis in order to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns.
Transaction Summary
Rigel turned to AMF to help facilitate the transfer of some equity from Rigel’s founder to key employees. The firm’s objective was to align equity ownership within the company in a way that best enabled the firm
to retain and attract key professionals as the business continues to grow. The transaction with AMF allowed
Rigel’s founder to access liquidity and redistribute equity to the next generation without sacrificing control
or the firm’s independence.
Partner Firm Perspective
"Success is driven by the opportunity to have direct financial reward in the achievements of the business - the
outperformance of our strategies and excellent service to clients," said George Kauffman. "The transaction with
AMF allows the company to retain and attract talented professionals who will be the firm’s next generation of
management through equity ownership. For Rigel, AMF’s structure fits the bill. AMF has taken the previous
concept of long-term financing via ownership, and improved upon it by eliminating the ’ownership’ part. We
are happy to be associated with them and expect to have a long partnership with them as we continue to work on Rigel’s
future succession plans."
