John McAvoy
Managing Director

Mr. McAvoy joined AMF as a Managing Director in September 2008.

Prior to joining AMF, Mr. McAvoy was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse where he held a number of senior roles in both the NY and London offices over 17 years. From 2004 to 2006, Mr. McAvoy was Global Head of Hedge Fund Coverage in Credit Suisse’s Prime Services department. Between 2002 and 2004, Mr. McAvoy managed Credit Suisse’s European Equity Capital Markets business, the unit responsible for originating and structuring equity offerings of all types including IPO’s, rights offerings and equity derivatives with European corporate clients. Through 2002, Mr. McAvoy was Global Co-Head of Convertible Securities where he oversaw sales, trading, research and capital markets of the convertible product. During his time at Credit Suisse, Mr. McAvoy also served on the Global Equity Operating Committee, the European Investment Banking Committee and was Chairman of the Equity Diversity Advisory Committee.

Before joining Credit Suisse, Mr. McAvoy worked for seven years in the Convertible Securities unit of Lehman Brothers.

Mr. McAvoy holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business (Duke University) and a BA from Wake Forest University.
